Arrival at Madrid Airport. Warm welcome by our English-speaking Muslim Baraka Trip Guide. Begin your journey in Spain’s vibrant capital, the only European capital with an Arabic-origin name and a rich Islamic historical background. Enjoy a brief panoramic introduction to the city centre before visiting the Abu Bakr Central Mosque of Madrid for prayer. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to stroll through Madrid’s lively streets and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Spanish capital.

After breakfast, continue exploring Madrid with a panoramic city tour. Highlights include Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Casa de la Panadería, the Royal Palace, Gran Vía, Plaza de España, Plaza de Cibeles, and Plaza de Castilla. Enjoy a photo stop at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid. The afternoon is dedicated to guided shopping and leisure time in the city centre.
After breakfast, journey to Toledo, known as the City of Three Cultures and historically known in Arabic as Tulaytulah. Enjoy a panoramic tour highlighting the unique coexistence of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim heritage that shaped the city’s history. Stop for photos at the impressive Moorish bridges of San Martín and Alcántara before visiting a traditional sword factory, a symbol of Toledo’s craftsmanship. Continue with a walk through the historic old town, including a visit to the well-preserved Mosque of Cristo de la Luz, one of the city’s former mosques.
In the afternoon, proceed south toward Andalusia.
Overnight stay: Granada
After breakfast, explore Granada, the capital of the last Islamic Emirate of Al-Andalus. Visit the Generalife Gardens and the Alhambra Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the prime example of Islamic arts and architecture with intricate designs and lush gardens. In the afternoon, enjoy panoramic views at San Miguel Alto before visiting the historic Albaicin quarter, starting at the Main Mosque of Granada. Head to the San Nicolas Viewpoint for breathtaking vistas and conclude your day with souvenir shopping at Plaza Nueva.

After breakfast, travel into the Alpujarra region in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Visit Órgiva, home to a local Muslim community, and learn about their way of life amid the area’s peaceful mountain setting.
Continue through the Alpujarra, a region that once served as the last refuge of Moorish resistance after the fall of the Emirate of Al-Andalus, known for its dramatic landscapes and rich history.

After breakfast, journey to Cordoba, the former capital of the Islamic Emirate of Al-Andalus, known in Arabic as Al-Qurtubah. Discover the historic city center and wander through the traditional Jewish and Arab quarters, ideal for photography and souvenir shopping. Visit the Great Mosque of Cordoba, once the second-largest mosque in the Islamic world after Masjid al-Haram. Continue with a visit to Medinat Az-Zahra, the magnificent palace-city of the Umayyad Caliphate and a UNESCO World Heritage site, reflecting the splendor of 10th-century Al-Andalus.

After breakfast, travel to Seville, one of the most important cities of Al-Andalus, known in Arabic as Ishbiliyyah. Discover Plaza de España and enjoy a walk through the historic city center, shaped by centuries of Islamic heritage and crossed by the Guadalquivir River, the largest river in Andalusia. Explore the heart of the city around the iconic Giralda, once the minaret of the Great Mosque of Seville, and admire the orange-tree courtyards. Continue to the Alcázar Palace and the Golden Tower, landmarks that reflect Seville’s rich Islamic and Andalusian legacy.
Overnight stay: Seville
After breakfast, travel through southern Portugal, historically known as Gharb Al-Andalus (“Western Andalus”). Continue your journey to Lisbon, the Portuguese capital and an important city during the era of Al-Andalus. Explore the historic Alfama district — derived from the Arabic Al-Hammah — where narrow streets and whitewashed houses reflect the city’s Moorish legacy. Visit Restauradores Square, Rossio Square, and Marquês de Pombal Square, and admire the impressive Cathedral of Sé.
Overnight stay: Lisbon
After breakfast, visit Sintra, historically known as Shantara. Explore the Moorish Castle and the colourful Pena Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Return to Lisbon for a panoramic tour including Rossio Square, St. George’s Castle, and the Tower of Belém. Enjoy free time in the city centre.
